Introduction to Charcoal (ages 10-15)
INSTRUCTOR: Gianchiglia
Saturday(s), 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This two-hour introduction to charcoal will help students fully understand and experiment with the medium. Using a still life as inspiration, students will be shown several demonstrations by the instructor, displaying different techniques and materials. Materials will be supplied.

Animal Portraiture (ages 10-15)
INSTRUCTOR: Gianchiglia
Saturday(s), 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This workshop is for anyone who loves to draw or paint animals. Using any medium desired, students will work from a photograph they bring in, and create realistic, textured works of art. Be sure to bring any medium you wish to work in and photographs of animals to work from.

Introduction to Portraiture (ages 10-15)
INSTRUCTOR: Gianchiglia

A step-by-step demonstration will be given to help students learn the proper measurements of the human head. Students will be able to draw a correctly proportional head and include light and shadow by the end of this workshop. Materials will be supplied.

Understanding Values (ages 10-15)
INSTRUCTOR: Gianchiglia
Saturday(s), 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
To achieve a life like drawing or painting, a full range of values is needed. In this workshop, students will study a still life and learn to see a full range of values from light to middle to dark tones. Students may work in any monochromatic medium desired such as charcoal, paint, or pencil. Bring desired medium to work with.

Two Days on the Wheel (ages 10-15)
INSTRUCTOR: Bedoya
Friday(s), 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Using the potter’s wheel, we will create a ceramic piece. Then, we will add sculptural and textural elements. We will finish our pieces by adding colored slip and engobes to the inside.
